Who are the APBI?
The ABPI exists to make the UK the best place in the world to research, develop and use new
medicines. We represent companies of all sizes who invest in discovering the medicines of the
future.
Our members supply cutting edge treatments that improve and save the lives of millions of people.
We work in partnership with Government and the NHS so patients can get new treatments faster
and the NHS can plan how much it spends on medicines. Every day, we partner with organisations in the life sciences community and beyond to transform lives across the UK.
One role undertaken by The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) is delivery of
the professional ABPI Professional Qualification for Industry Personnel (ABPI My Learning), taken by
those who call upon doctors, dentists, and other UK prescribers and/or promote medicines based on their therapeutic properties. This includes representatives from virtually all pharmaceutical
companies with UK operations.
Integrity of the Exam is crucial to building and maintaining the trust and reputation of the UK
pharmaceutical industry. Equally important is the support provided to provide the best possible
learner journey. The ABPI have invested in new content creation software for use in-house and is
now transitioning and updating existing learning content.

This 12 week project centres around the student conducting online research, liaising with subject

content creation, and drawing on the student’s own creativity and knowledge to update and develop complementary online learning materials to support candidates studying for the ABPI accredited qualifications.
The output of the project will be the successful delivery of the newly formatted visual
content for use in learning manuals and e-learning to support exam learners on their qualification
learning journey.
The applicant will be expected to support the ABPI Education and Examinations Executive will
undertake a ‘task & finish’ project covering exam content development through liaising within the
examinations teams and, where appropriate, with internal teams, external providers, subject matter
experts and the ABPI Exam Governance Committee and Exam Project Team.
The output of the project should deliver:
- Up to date and enhanced learning and e-learning content created using latest software in house software and covering the full qualification curriculum to support the learner journey for the ABPI accredited qualifications
The student will be working within the Education & Examinations team and will liaise with colleagues across ABPI and within our member companies as required. Where there are opportunities for attendance at internal meetings or with pharmaceutical site companies, the student will be able to take advantage of these, alongside any other opportunities to build a personal network.
The successful applicant can expect to have a supervisor who would meet regularly for guidance and support.

similar projects in the past having provided opportunities to develop contacts which could be helpful to someone considering a future career in industry.
