Visualising data is difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Turning your data into effective charts, graphs, and plots is a learnable process. In this training session, you will:
- Understand the simple principles of visualising data
- Learn a repeatable system for creating effective data visuals
- Apply this knowledge to real-world research examples
No matter your software preferences or field of work, you’ll leave with tools you can apply straight away to make your results stand out at meetings and conferences, engage readers and reviewers, and communicate complex results clearly.
Before the session, please gather three data visualisation examples from your research area — ideally one or two that you’ve made yourself, and one or two from someone else, such as a figure from a paper, report, or presentation.
Please join the session from a computer. It might also be useful to have a mobile device nearby to scan QR codes and access the polls and resources on a separate screen.
