Welcome

At the Yorkshire Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership (YBDTP), we bring together the world-leading research in biosciences and biotechnology across Yorkshire and Teesside.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide doctoral training to deliver a UK bioeconomy.

To do this, we have established the Yorkshire Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership (YBDTP). The YBDTP will exploit the region’s potential and its diverse population, to attract the best talent and train the next generation of bioscientists, equipping them with the skills to develop the UK bioeconomy and careers in academia, industry, policy and civil society.

The YBDTP will gather bioscience centres of excellence, extensive industry collaboration and broad expertise and excellence in doctoral supervision.

This collaboration has attracted major investment from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and from the partner universities: Leeds Beckett University, Sheffield Hallam University, Teesside University, the University of Bradford, the University of Huddersfield, the University of Hull, the University of Leeds, the University of Sheffield, and the University of York.
